Gender Development Association is a Non-Profit Association, plays a leading role on Gender Rights, and has been working throughout Lao PDR since 1991. GDA work is to empower women, men, adolescence girls and children to achieve the gender equity through joint actions, knowledge sharing and ending gender based violence and discrimination. GDA focuses on rights of vulnerable groups, especially women in rural communities throughout Lao PDR, as well as cooperation with our network for both national and international partners. Job purpose: The Gender Community Facilitator works closely with the Project Manager and Gender Project Officer to carry out the effective project implementation and to deliver the timely results of GDA’s activities and interventions. The facilitator coordinates with relevant government agencies at district, provincial and the authorities at community level. She/he will also work closely with the community to implement the project activities in villages in order to achieve annual work plans. She/he will assist in monitoring and evaluation of the intervention. Key responsibilities: •Conducting and facilitating gender training and workshops in line with the description of actionsof project; •Collaborating with health, education, Lao Women’s Union at district and provincial level as well asother government partners, INGOs, NPAs, etc.; •Supporting the effective monitoring and evaluation of projects to meet with donors’ requirement; •Assisting preparation of project progress and final reports as required by donors and Director; •Attending meetings and events as required; •Engaging other work as required. Skills and Qualifications: •Diploma degree or equivalent in community development and relevant fields; •Minimum 2 years of professional working experience in the field of studies or related field, as wellas experience in working at community level; •Demonstrated good skills and experience in training design, planning, facilitation, monitoring andevaluation, in particularly participatory training approach; •Previous working experience with INGOs or NPAs and with team work, and in remote and isolatedcommunities, etc.; •Proof of understanding of gender context in Lao PDR; •Evidence of working as a team and building relationships with diverse stakeholders, communities,ethnic groups; •Demonstrated strong leadership, decision making, problem solving, planning, analytical andinfluencing skills; •Being able to communicate in English, written and oral – preferable; •Knowledge of local dialect considered an asset. (Hmong or Khmu).
